About Red Thicket

Our Story

My love for needlework began as a young child, learning to cross stitch and embroider alongside my mother. Those cherished memories stayed with me even as life got busy—raising my own children meant setting aside hobbies for a time.

When my kids grew older, I rediscovered my passion for stitching. Scrolling through Youtube one day, I stumbled onto Flosstube and was amazed by the world that had opened up: stunning fabric colors, endless thread options, and designs I'd never imagined. I dove back into cross stitch, eager to explore everything this vibrant community had to offer.

What excited me most was discovering fantasy designs—mermaids, dragons, and adorable animals in clothes! This was nothing like the traditional stitching I'd learned from my mother. I could finally combine my love of fantasy with needlework, and I was captivated by stitchers working on every color of fabric imaginable.

After purchasing hand-dyed fabrics from other talented dyers, I decided to try dyeing myself. The process was incredibly fun and inspiring—experimenting with colors and techniques to get each piece just right. What started as dyeing for my own projects grew into a passion for creating fabrics that other stitchers would love. Red Thicket was born from that journey.

The Hand-Dyed Difference

Each fabric is individually dyed in small batches, which means subtle variations in tone and depth that add character to your finished pieces. Our curated colorways are designed to complement a wide range of needlework styles, from traditional cross stitch to modern embroidery.

We work with premium Zweigart fabric in a variety of counts and offer multiple sizes to suit your project needs.

Our subscription program brings a carefully selected hand-dyed fabric to your door each month. It's perfect for building your stash with unique colorways and discovering new favorites you might not have chosen on your own.

Based in Utah

Red Thicket is proudly based in Utah, where we hand-dye every piece of fabric in our studio. We ship our fabrics across the United States, bringing artisan-quality materials to stitchers nationwide.
